Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris was born on the 20th of October, 1964. She is an American politician. She is also the first female vice president and the highest-ranking female official in the United America. She is a part of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. In addition, she served as the United States senator representing California between 2017 and 2021. Harris was born in Oakland. Harris received her law degree from Howard University. Her first job was in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Harris was later recruited to join the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003 she was elected San Francisco District Attorney. In 2010 Harris was appointed Attorney General of California. Harris was elected again in 2014. Harris served as the junior United States Senator from California between 2017 until 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez to become the first African American woman senator and the first South Asian American ever to be elected to the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who advocated for healthcare reform and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A pathway to citizenship for immigrants who are not legally recognized. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. Her sharp questioning of Trump officials in Senate hearings has garnered her national attention, including the second Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh who was indicted with sexual assault.
